Keeping the attention of employees when covering a long topic can be tricky. The history of third party reporting is an important topic and the video needed to keep people engaged. I found a style of illustration and animation that fit EVA BC’s brand and interpreted the script in a way that hopefully makes the information easier to process and remember.
Learning Outcomes
It’s difficult to think of ways to keep people paying attention to an over five minute video. The content on the screen had to match the audio in a way that assisted in the understanding of the message which was easy in some section but very tricky in others. It was approval by committee so the feedback process was long and, while I attempted to manage expectations on delivery times and content, there were a few bumps in the road. I think in the future I would pad expectations a bit more thoroughly and perhaps present the storyboards as opposed to send them over for cold review.
