Every year VCH creates an Impact Report to share how their business affects the community. For 2021, I created an illustrated infographic to break up their annual web page and PDF report.
I sent a variety of moodboards for the client to choose what style of illustration they preferred then sketched out the rough layout to manage expectations. The compositions use organic shapes and paired colours to allow the squares to stack or sit next to each other depending on the screen size without looking awkward or losing focus on the message.
In addition to the infographics, I animated icons for various sections of the website. While that website has been updated for the next year’s impact report, you can still see the PDF version live here.
Learning Outcomes
This was a delightful project that stretched my illustrative and strategic muscles. It can be a challenge to adjust a style from detailed characters to simplified iconography but I enjoy it. Blending styles and trying new styles has always been something I find fun. Overall the client and myself were happy with the infographics and the additional animated assets for the site!
