YVR wanted to communicate their plan for future growth with their staff. They hoped to do so in a way that looked pleasing enough that employees would want to hang it in their cubicles.

The solution was a variety of collateral pieces that included a newspaper and several posters that would live at the desks of all of YVR’s staff.

Three ornate isometric illustrations were made to represent their complex core goals. Each illustration includes a fictional structure made up of their values and amenities. It features simple characters, giving the compositions proportion and a face to the employees, as well as more symbolic elements.

Due to the sensitive nature of the content the poster has been filled with latin text to allow you to see the illustrations in-situ.

Learning Outcomes

I had to fight to be able to do these detailed illustrations (even working outside of the client budget) because I wanted the opportunity to do isometric illustration for a corporate project. I was ambitious and had big ideas but now I know this project wasn’t worth the extra stress. It was an internal document for the employees that would be replaced in a year. If it was an external campaign that would have touched a larger audience, I would do it again. As it was, I’ve learned to assess where to spend effort in context of the final product.
